The Thermal Converter reactor system thermally depolymerizes waste tires in an oxygen-free, externally heated reaction vessel in a temperature controlled environment. Oxidation or “burning” does not occur because the process maintains an oxygen-free environment. Complete control of time and temperature insures product decomposition. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system can monitor and control the entire process from a central control room.

Because the pyrolysis decomposition reactions takes place in an environment closed to the atmosphere, in combination with a PLC controlled gas management system, it enables, virtually, 100% of the gas, and oil generated in this process to be recovered for sale, or utilized in clean burning combustion chambers for fuel.

The pyro-char will be removed from the reactor automatically through a vacuum suction system.

The high tensile steel remaining in the reactor, after the pyro-carbon is discharged, is collected via a semi-automatic discharge system.

Condensers used in the oil recovery system are water-jacketed tanks, and bare tube heat exchangers supplied by water from a cooling tower. Optimizing process conditions, or a secondary oil processing step can be provided to enhance odor and flash point characteristics of the mid cut oil, increasing the market demand and pricing value for the recovered oil.
